Framer’s effects now cover appear, scroll, hover and variants, which changes how we plan motion. Most reveals, staggers and parallax effects can live natively in the Effects panel.

When to stay native

If an effect has a clear trigger and a timeline — scroll into view, page load, hover — build it with native effects and variants. Clients can edit it without touching code.

When to write code

Velocity-based effects, custom cursors and complex page transitions still need a small code component. Keep each one focused, label its controls and document it for the client.
